Short version
WordRank is a free word-guessing game. We don't require accounts, we don't sell data, and we store as little as possible.
What we store on your device
Your current game state (game ID, guesses, session token) is saved in your browser'slocalStorageso you can refresh without losing progress. Clearing your browser data removes it.
What the server receives
When you start a game or submit a guess, our backend receives the word you typed and a temporary session token. We do not log IP addresses or personally identifiable information for analytics. Standard infrastructure logs (Vercel, Cloudflare) may briefly retain request metadata for security and debugging.
Cookies and analytics
WordRank does not set advertising cookies. If privacy-friendly analytics are added later (e.g. Plausible, Vercel Analytics), this page will be updated to reflect that.
Third-party services
The game runs on Vercel (hosting) and Cloudflare Workers + R2 (word-vector service). These providers operate under their own privacy policies.
Children
WordRank is safe for general audiences and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
